Why We Love Scary Movies

Most people like watching videos de terror. It is great to watch a spooky show that gets under your skin. For many movie fans, this is not the topic that is commonly discussed. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at why we like to be horrified when watching this movie.

For some people it is enjoyable to experience this cuddling up feeling. They want to feel protected. For them, this experience is more than just watching a thrilling show. But for the rest of videos de terror fans this is something else.

All scary movies have a bad character. It is commonly somebody or something so dreadful that we detest looking. Nonetheless, we do look and often enjoy every minute of it. Many bad horror movies characters are simply disgusting. There are not many that frighten us truly.

Nonetheless, there are some that we really like. Let’s take for example a film that is called a Silence of Lambs. Hannibal Lecter is one of the few bad characters who makes such an impression. Even in imprisonment he is very scary. Recollect the episode when he was imprisoned underground in the last cell of a high-security jail. He was not behind bars similar to other imprisoned. He was set behind unbreakable Plexiglas. It seems that this bad guy is worse than all other bad guys.

Similar to Hannibal, many scariest villains look real. They do not make an impression of an inconceivable creature. He is a human just like all of the other people that we meet every day. Yet he is evil beyond our imagination.

It is a fabulous scary movie that stays with us for long after watching it. We leave the cinema with gasps and tension is relieved. So then, why do we like them so much? For most people, it is the very scary when the villain and thrill burst out into the screen. He captivates our interest and will not let go, not even after the movie ends. That is why we like videos de terror. They make an everlasting impression on us.

  • American Idol. Sure, signs of talent start off, well, pretty slow sometimes, but in the end the talent is there to see. American Idol debuted in 2002 and continues to draw in millions of participants and viewers.

Sundance Film Festival Facts

What happens every year in Mid-January and in Utah no less? The Sundance Film Festival.  And oh, is the festival  something to see.

What began in 1978 when disco was hot and folks focused on retrospective films and seminars by filmmakers, today includes hundreds of folks from around the world hoping to see the next big movie getting their jump start miles away from the Hollywood arena; movies that include documentaries, dramatic features and short films.

Held in Park City Utah, past festivals have included movies such as: “Little Miss Sunshine” in 2006, “Chicago 10” in 2007 and in 2009, “Push” a drama based on the book of the same name, by author, Sapphire.  This year the festival proved to be just as intriguing, perhaps even more so.

Some facts:

  • Sundance was founded in 1981 by actor, Robert Redford.
  • The festival was named after the Sundance Kid, a role that Redford played in the movie, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”
  • Sundance is the largest independent cinema festival held within the United States.
  • Famous films like “The Blair Witch Project,” Little Miss Sunshine,” “Sex, Lies and Videotape,” and “Napoleon Dynamite” began their careers at the Sundance Film Festival.
  • This year, there were more entries than ever before; 1,102 total. From that number 16 films were selected as winners.
  • 29 countries were involved.
  • There were 40 first-time filmmakers.
  • For the first time in Sundance history, Festival Insiders were placed throughout the festival to give direction and help to those visiting.

Festivals such as the Sundance Festival give fans an opportunity to view films long and short, eat and drink, and hopefully, get a quick view of a movie star without necessarily having to pay a hefty ticket price. This year, folks could get into the festival for a mere $15.

If you have a keen interest in film, you may want to think about the possibility of putting on a film festival in your local area. Film festivals are relatively niche events and are not exhibited often, so any event you put on will be sure to draw a crowd. One important step is making sure you have a sufficient space to hold the festival. Promoting your festival is a vital step to its success, and one good way to do this is with flyers. You can hand them out on the street or outside cinemas to really boost interest. You should also start promoting your event on the Internet as soon as possible. What if Marilyn Monroe Had Lived?

It would be a different and amazing world. Drugs wouldn’t be as much of an issue, obviously. What an idea it would be if Marilyn had the help most celebrities have in The Canyon at TheCyn.com, don’t you think? One can only dream.

The reality is Hollywood is notorious for drug abuse because of all the pressure and the expectation to deliver—be it film, music, or modeling. How you look, how you act, and how you perform matters. Your fans matter. It’s a lot to handle all at once. The natural choice to combat all of that is to find a way out that gives peace of mind. Unfortunately, drugs do that. There won’t be any lies here! It’s the truth: drugs make you feel good. And that’s why many actresses have turned to drugs to cope with their everyday issues.

Sadly, it couldn’t help Marilyn Monroe from her dangerous downward spiral but at the very least the next generation of lovely stars saw the light in that place called The Canyon, right in Malibu, California. Name any actress you might know that had popped up in the tabloids over some bit of drug use, and you can bet that the actress had landed herself in the tremendous place. The list is extensive and includes Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Whitney Houston, and Kelly Osbourne. But the best part of this truth is that all these celebrities listed have come out better people, free and clean, changed, and out searching for the same thing we all search for: validation and stability. Because of The Canyon, they found it.

It’s sad that some of the classic greats of our time had to suffer in death; but we can at least rejoice in the triumph of others to commemorate those classics and remind us all that there is a way out.
