Started in 1946, the Cannes Film Festival has become the worlds most prestigious and elite film festival. The festival gets its name from its location, Cannes, France. This lovely resort town in southern France loves to babysit the world’s rich and beautiful in May of every year. In 2010, the festival was held from May 12 to May 23, 2010. The other main reason this festival is so famous is because it’s one of the oldest film festivals in the world, it’s a great grandpa film festival.

Film Festival Greatness & Lovely French Beach Recreation

The town of Cannes is overrun with over 200,000 people during the festival. This is an international affair so actors, film makers, and groupies come together for this event that’s basically French Hollywood. Films can be made and dumped at this festival and so can careers. If you do well at Cannes, you will become a known individual in the world of film. Keep in mind that Cannes is known as a beach resort town. So, the lovely French beaches don’t make for bad recreation.

Local residents and educational groups are allowed to see films from a select list at theaters around the community. Again, entry is very hard to come by.
